Xerox Colorqube Technology, What is it?
If you have been quoted a Colorqube copier here in NYC, and have wondered what it is, here are some of the basics about the technology. This overview applies to these models:
- Xerox Colorqube 8700
- Xerox Colorqube 8900
- Xerox Colorqube 9301
- Xerox Colorqube 9302
- Xerox Colorqube 9303
The Colorqube copiers do not use laser technology. Also, it does not use inkjet. It uses wax, like a crayon. What this means is the color costs can be super cheap and the copier will make an awesome natural shine on the copies it produces. It also means about 3 or 4 years into owning the product, the printhead will more than likely act up being an expensive repair if you don’t have a warranty on the copier.
We love the Colorqube overall. It can be inexpensive and does a great job on flyers. It works amazing for most offices in the NYC and Manhattan areas. It also has the advantage of being environmentally friendly compared to other copiers on the market.
